Napa Valley Mustard Festival Announces The Awards!

Napa, CA ~ Ding, ding, ding, ding, the results are in! The Grand Champion mustard of the 2005 Napa Valley Mustard Festival World-Wide Mustard Competition is Aunty Lilikoi Passion Fruit Wasabi Mustard of Kauai, Hawaii!

Medals will be presented at The Awards ~ A Tasty Competition on Friday evening, March 11, at COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts in Napa.

303 mustards from four countries, as far away as Japan and as close as Napa, were judged in 15 categories by food journalists and food sensory scientists as part of the twelfth annual Napa Valley Mustard Festival. A panel of judges headed by Barry Levenson of the Mt. Horeb Mustard Museum in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, selected the Grand Champion Mustard from the Gold Medal winners. Meet world champion mustard makers from far and wide who attend to receive awards; savor wine country recipes featuring mustard by Napa Valley chefs competing for the title of Napa Valley Mustard Festival Chef 2005 and People's Choice Chef 2005. Taste award winning mustards and fine wine at The Awards ~ A Tasty Competition, 7 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2003 at COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts.. Enjoy music and help select the People's Choice Chef of the Year. Dance until you drop to rock n' roll by Eddie and the Boppers.

The Marketplace - March 12 & 13, 2005

Mustard lovers --Don't miss The Marketplace, the Napa Valley Mustard Festival's Signature Event, on Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at COPIA in Napa, California. Rain or shine, taste sensational wine country cuisine, world famous wines and hearty craft brews; shop for fine arts, and sample bronze, silver and gold award-winning mustards from around the world.

If the sun is shining you're in for a brilliant experience; and if it rains, one of the coziest weekends of the year. Admission at the door is $35 per adult, which includes a food and wine tasting package, students 13-20, $10, which includes 5 tasting tickets; children ages 6 to 12, $5; and admission for children under 6 is complimentary. All attendees enjoy product tastings, cooking demonstrations and entertainment through out. Tickets are available at the gate. Park in downtown Napa and take the free California Wine Tours/Evans Transportation shuttles to COPIA at 500 Third Street in downtown Napa.
