Visual Art Competition Exhibit 2008

Stop by St. Supéry Winery to visit the Festival's 15th Annual Visual Art Competition Exhibit during A Weekend of Fine Art. The winery will host a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception for artists and the public on Saturday, February 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibit will run from February 9 through March 30.

MJ Schaer Gallery offers original fine art by established and emerging Northern California and Western US artists. During the 2008 Napa Valley Mustard Festival, the gallery will feature renowned Napa Valley artist, Gilbert Wheat February 1, through March 30, 2008. Often referred to as a 'Napa living treasure', his work has long been sought after by local, national and international collectors, both private and corporate, and he has had exhibits at the world famous de Young Museum in San Francisco and at the Crocker Art Gallery in Sacramento. His work has been exhibited and sold exclusively by the MJ Schaer Gallery for the past sixteen years.

RASgalleries is Napa Valley's only American Art Glass Gallery of original, one of a kind and studio glassworks. The collection includes a large ensemble of scent bottles, vases, sculpture and paperweights. Many featured artists are gallery exclusives using techniques that include mouth blown, fused and assembled glass. During the 2008 Mustard Festival the gallery will be featuring works by three sculptural glass artists: Richard Silver, Jeremy Cline and Randy Strong. This gallery features the works of popular local artist Steven Gordon. In addition to his luminous oil and pastel landscape paintings of the Napa Valley and Northern California, the gallery also features watercolor and mixed media works and a large selection of framed and unframed limited edition giclee prints based on scenes of wine country and the artist's travels. The gallery doubles as Gordon's studio and guests are invited to view his current work in progress as well as the current exhibition. For this year's Mustard festival Weekend of Fine Art, Gordon will be exhibiting a recently completed series of Napa Valley vineyard and wine country oil paintings. Refreshments will be served throughout the weekend.
